When we were checking a clients machines we noticed that apart for a virus checker no other security measures were in place.

The Customer didn’t seem that concerned as he didn’t realize the dangers and frankly when we told him of the real dangers he thought we were paranoid!

However he accepted the free monitoring software we gave him and a week later we checked back to see the results. Whilst our customer was blissfully unaware of attacks aimed at his PC the monitor log showed a rather disturbing and all too familiar picture. Hundreds of attempts in less than 7 days. Attempts to read his hard drive, track his typing (and thus passwords), his movements across sites, his purchasing and browsing habits — they were all there.

Now it was the turn of the customer to get paranoid and us to reassure him that with a simple solution he could make his PC VERY SECURE.

Indeed, whilst it is online, we effectively hid the computer from the outside world.

To independently confirm our success we then asked Gibson Research Corporation to test the PC’s security.
